  • Cotto might be in for a rude awakening.

New to the site, but i constantly keep seeing Miguel Cotto as a top rated Lt.Welter. First of all, lets take his last two fights. First is was Corley, who had him hurt sooooo bad if Corley was a fighter, he should of had him out.. Next it was abdulaev, who again caught him with a straight right and had him hurt for nearly two round until he cut and tired... It just reminds me of a similiar young fighter who had all the skill and was thrown in with top-notch competition too fast and it ruined his career.. Fernando Vargas.

i dont think cotto is ready for someone like mayweather, and with hatton he'd have a tough fight and maybe even lose.

on the other hand, people need to shut the **** up about him being "stunned" against corley...who the **** cares? he got careless and he paid the price. mayweather was stunned against corley. hatton was KNOCKED DOWN against some random journeyman. who cares, it happens...

I think Cotto's trainer is handling his matches well The only way a fighter to get better is to be in pressure situations..

EXACTLY...........HATTON would have COTTO for breakfast and put him into retirement....so he should stay clear of HATTON and of course MAYWEATHER.

Let him take it easy and defend his WBO belt against WBO contenders for 2-3 years before taking the jump.

I think way to much is being made of Hatton and his victory over Kostya. The man had a great game plan but his style is perfect for Cotto. I would love to see a fight between Cotto and Hatton. Also don't be surprised when Cotto puts Hatton down with a shot to the body. However I agree with everyone else stay the hell away from Mayweather.

Hatton should avoid Mayweather for now and try for Cotto. The dude is over-rated.

^^^ i agree. i strongly believe Hatton would get beat the same way Gatti did against Mayweather. Floyd is way too fast for Hatton.

Cotto is going to be one of the tougher fighters to beat at 140 next to Floyd. I have always been critical but in my objectivity I cannot deny this.

I will probably be the first to say this, but 140 lbs. days of being the most talent rich division are about done. Very soon it will be either 130 lbs. or 135.
