    Mayweather vs Margarito at 147

I honestly wouldnt be surprised if this was Mayweathers next fight. They have been talking about fighting eachother for the longest.

I have said many times on here that Margarito is exciting to watch but is one of the most overrated fighters in boxing and that Floyd would kill him. I was saying this when Floyd was at 135 and Margairto was the champ at 147 who no one wanted to fight and everyone said I was crazy but I still stand by it.

Here is why I think this could be the next fight. Who else can Floyd fight? 140 has been shakened up and the only 2 guys he can fight is Cotto and Hatton. I dont think neither Frank Warren or Arum is ready to put it on the line against Floyd yet. It's to big of a step up for Cotto and the fight would be bigger if they wait. With Hatton it could be a money problem with the 2 networks and I think they might want a softy after the Tszyu fight. Chico would get killed again.

Floyd could fight Witter or someone like that but he said he wants big money PPV fights and none of those guys will bring that and they are high risk - low reward fights so he will probally have to move up. Zab is his best friend in boxing and King and Arum dont get along. They also wouldnt give those 2 the type of money that they think they deserve. Oscar said he wont fight Floyd and he's not fighting any time soon any way. However I do think that if Floyd keeps winning on PPV that Oscar would come back to fight him for a huge money fight.

That leaves Margarito and Mosley. Actually Mosely had slipped my mind and that may be a more reasonable fight but Mosley is with Golden Boy and Oscar and Arum dont get along alot. Margarito is with Top Rank so it would be much easier. Also like I said they have been talking about eachother. Floyd was going to jump straight from 135-154 to fight him as a tune up to Oscar but DLH said he wont fight him so the fight backed off. Margarito is getting more popular every fight and he has a huge race following so I think it could be a decent PPV and Arum would make alot of money thats why I think it is reasonable.

Who wins? I pick Floyd by a late stoppage

I think Margarito would have a punchers chance against floyd.

Margarito isnt exactly feather fisted, and his long reach and size would give Floyd some added difficulty.

floyd would be too fast for margarito ...most probably a UD....unless Margarito pressured him from the start and took him to the ropes and pounded his body....this is how castillo beat mayweather in the first fight.

Would be a very intresting fight but I still have Floyd by late round stoppage. Margarito just doesn't have the physical tools to beat Floyd.

People who say that Margarito, or anyone for that matter, could give him trouble with their power and basing that on little to no evidence, since Floyd has rarely been even close to being tested. I say Floyd beats anyone in that weight range right now so of course I will go with him.

Good reasoning as to why this fight might happen. I was thinking along the same lines, however as more time passes it seems that one of or even both Cotto and Hatton would be willing to fight Mayweather...we'll have to see, I guess.
