So Vitali just beats the Sauce by tenth round KO after not totally dominating his opponent as is his wont but still being ahead on the scorecards and (what a delightful surprise!) all the Haye fans come crawling out the woodwork whooping and hollering to the high hills that their man can lay a beatdown on the slow, robotic elder Klit. You'd think after all the Wlad/youtube/Audley Harrison business that they'd keep tactfully silent, but I guess that's not their style.
Will Haye himself retain his mysterious silence or will he too join the chorus of his loyal fans and finally call out Vit? I sure hope so, but it still puts him in a tricky situation given that it was Wlad who called him out and whom he's, so far, not publicly responded to. Or will he still go ahead with the lucrative and still very safe Audley bout? You wonder if Haye is aware of Vit's lacklustre training for the Sosnowski fight, and if so then the possibility must be going through his mind that Vit might have just had a bad night at the office.
Whatever Haye's faults, he's a shrewd businessman, weighing risk against gain. Taking on Vit would put him in a very good position were he to win the fight, and given the fact that Vit plans to retire very soon Haye won't really have time to hang around. Will he seize the opportunity and try to get to the older Vit or will he play it safe for a while in hopes of (perhaps) taking on Wlad somewhere down the line? Questions, questions.
Anyway, what say you good boxing fans?
