For one There was never a post fight urine test.

And you're article never gives a reference for when Pryor admitted to using steroids.

I would not be shocked to know that you wrote this page to back up you're claims.

You most likely took most of the info from wiki and added the steroid crap.

The original info is from Wiki. So why is none of steroid crap in the wiki page?
    larryx2010 you got owned!!!!

Pryor can say whatever he wants. It's his opinion. Some fighters and trainers are good at predicting fights, others are not.

What was in the bottle that Panama mixed hasn't ever been verified. Luis Resto said in the documentary Assault in the Ring that Panama often gave his "asthma drugs" to "open up the lungs". Maybe it was that, who knows.

Manny Steward said in an interview over at ESB that Pryor said to him that he and Panama were doing illegal things. Steward seems to have a good deal of respect for Pryor so I was a little surprised that he'd basically rat him out like that, but then again it was also so Manny could talk about what he did as a trainer, so I guess it's not unexpected.

Manny probably said afterwards "Pryor won the rematch in the exact same fashion I expected him to".

          Pryor interview:

Boxing Monthly: "Subsequently, that career-high triumph became tarnished. In the later rounds, TV monitors recorded chief second Panama Lewis instructing his aides to pass up “the bottle I mixed earlier”, leading to suggestions of impropriety. So what was going on?"

Aaron Pryor: "Every place I go, people say: “What was in the water?” I don’t know! I didn’t give myself the water. Panama told me it was peppermint schnapps to help settle my stomach ‘cos I’d been burpin’! Shortly after, Panama got in trouble with another fighter’s gloves [he was jailed for removing the stuffing from fighter Luis Resto’s mitts].

Because of that, people assumed he done something wrong with the black bottle in the Arguello fight. In the papers the next day, the media accused me of winning the fight illegally and, suddenly, all the credibility I earned for beating Alexis was up in the air. I’ve got a cloud over my head. I was cryin’. You can’t imagine how I was hurtin’.

That would never have come up if I’d had a urine test taken from me. I had to fight Alexis again just to clear my name."

yeah, i call full on bull**** on that first article saying pryor admitted taking roids. as a aaron pryor diehard fan, i've never seen or heard anything of him having taken a drug test and having tested positive. nor have i heard pryor say he took roids.

i've watched all of his fights, interviews, done stories on him for school, studied up on his opponents, etc, not nothing of any of sort about him admitting taking anything.

just like the post above, i've seen that one a bunch before, how he had to fight again to prove he wasn't in any shenanigans, and he took the fight to arguello even harder in the rematch.

aaron pryor was a beast, he was the best 140'der probably ever. his style was remarkable, his chin was granite, his stamina and work rate were in a class of their own. you want to talk about one of the most feared fighters in the sport, it was pryor in his prime. Sugar Ray leonard didn't want to fight him even when he said he was willing to come up in weight, not because he was scared because he knew it wasn't worth the hard work that ahead of him in a pryor fight. even tommy hearns said that he had enough of pryor from the gym and amateur days.

aaron pryor can say whatever the **** he wants about whatever he wants. he's one of the best ever to lace them up.

Leonard did offer Pryor a fight, however. Half a million wasn't enough for Pryor.

I thought it was a bit of a lowball offer, but not totally outrageous considering how much Pryor was usually making and how much bigger names like Duran and Benitez got for facing Leonard.
