Why did Lennox Lewis not give Vitali Klitschko a rematch?

Don't start with the he won by TKO and there was nothing to prove. That was a very competitive fight until it was stopped because of the cut. Vitali was winning that fight.

Was it because Lennox Lewis' "mum" wouldn't let him? That's what Vitali thinks....

"Lennox promised me but his mum decided he wasn't going to fight," said the 38-year-old ahead of the Laureus World Sports Awards in Abu Dhabi. "He invited me to London, without managers. He said he wanted to talk just together. I came to the room and his mum is there. We talked for two hours and his mum was looking at me and scanning me.

"After that I went away and he called me a couple of hours later and said, 'Sorry, but no'. I felt it wasn't his decision, his mum decided. I tried to change his decision, but it's difficult.

Did Lennox not feel confident he could win a rematch and decided to go out on top?

I guess either way it's safe to say Vitali retired the pugilist specialist.

At 38 after years of being on top he prolly felt he slipped so he did the right move by retiring on top.

He got the win, but it was tough for him. What did he have to gain by accepting a rematch?

I don't know, one thing i do know is that Lewis wasn't in top shape for the Vitali fight and he fought Vitali's fight.

I think he was unsure if he would win the rematch and decided he didn't need that at the end of his career. Nothing wrong with that, he fought Vitali once, he was past his prime, he won a close fight and decided it was a good time to retire.

                  Vitali wouldn't take OSDT.

He would've been 39 years old. Not very prime.
An "accidental" headbutt and a few heavy punches would've taken it to that eye.
Close fight, but Lewis was taking over, because of the cut.

How would everybody would've reacted if the fight went on an Lewis won by Points or a ko?
