Better performance: Toney TKO9 Barkley or Mayweather TKO6 Gatti

After someone posted a thread praising Toney's performance against Iran Barkley in his 168 pound debut, the first performance that sort of mirrored the skill, precision, and speed used against a bigger, plodding opponent I thought of was Mayweather beating Arturo Gatti back in 2005.

That being said, who do you think performed better in the ring on fight night?

Safe to say Barkley was a tougher test for James than Arturo was for Floyd, yes. However it still doesn't take away from the skill that Floyd showed in the ring, though I do see why Toney's win can be considered better given the opponent.

Is this a joke? Toney beating Barkley was better than anything in Floyds entire career man

Lol I knew I'd catch slack for this question at some point. The only reason I posed it is because they're both similar in the sense that both men were above the weight class they started in, going up against a supposedly bigger, stronger opponent, and both used their speed and technical brilliance to dominate their opposition.

Yes but Barkley was much much better than Gatti ever was.

Toney all day. Im one of the few who thinks Gatti should be in the HOF, but not based on skill based on his ability to deliver a performance. Gatti is more along the lines of a sparring partner for Floyd than an opponent. Corrales would have been a better example.

Both great performances. Lets not act like Barkley is all that, he got beat by a fat Roberto Duran.

Toney beating Barkley was a thing of beauty......the sweet science at it's best.....Toney was an artist in the ring that night.....his fists were like the stroke of a brush from an artist.........a virtuoso performance.......

Then again.....Floyd did "step on" Gatti and delivered on his promise to finish in 6..........he stomped on Gatti..........

                  but i vote Toney....

I think P4P a fat Duran is still better than Mickey Ward.
