WBO President: "Martinez has 48 hours to decide on a weight class"

    WBO needs Martinez decision

    By Gabriel F. Cordero

Word is the WBO has given a time limit of 48 hours for Sergio “Maravilla” Martínez from Argentina to decide if he’ll remain at middleweight or go back to jr middleweight. Martínez is currently WBO and WBC middleweight champion as well as WBC super welterweight champion. Martinez won the unified middleweight title in April with a unanimous decision over Kelly Pavlik in Atlantic City.

He should stay at MW. Much smarter move; only reason Mayweather sees him as a possibility. It'll be crazy though, Paul doing work at 147 and Martinez at 160 .

Yup stay at MW and continue to snipe off opponents. Unless he gets a better offer of course and vacate..

Would the Ring let him keep his title? That's the only reason I see for him keeping the 154 belt.

martinez should keep the MW belt. floyd already got a 154 lbs belt, but I'm pretty sure he'd like to get his hands on a 160 lbs belt.

The 154 division is deep right now but he's the lineal champ at 160, I think he should pursue a fight with Sturm to unify or a rematch against Paul at 160.

160 is too big for Gorilla Dog.....most of his fights were at 30 or 35.....he doesn't even walk around at 160........there is no need for Gorilla Dog to go up that high to prove himself......he has proven himself over and over for a long time........he is already a future HOF and one of the greatest fighters to ever grace a ring.......
