sorry doggie but Valero was already signed to fight DeMarco when they negotiations with Floyd fell through. I wish he wasn't tied down because I would have loved to see that instead of the Clottey fight. Truth be told, he along with Margarito were candidates for a fight with Packy in Nov. if negotiations fell through again. Arum put a plan together were all Valero would have had to do was beat Peterson @140 in the summer, then another big fight....leading up to a showdown with Manny. It was gonna happen, but that fiasco took place and sadly we never got a chance to see this epic showdown.

Valero vs Lamont peterson in the summer
Valero vs Maidana in the fall for Maidana's 140 title

Then afterwards Manny drops to 140 to defend his ring title against him in the Philippines.
