Yea, that's my thing, what if Evander starts connecting with bombs on Wlad's chin....

Wlad handled Brewster in both fights very well, only he gassed in the 1st fight. Now, Evander is much more skilled than Brewster, but I still think Wlad would get the job done, something like 7-5 or 8-4 win for Wladimir. And this is 2010 Wlad we're talking about, not 2004.Keep in mind Evander isn't that small. He's 6'2 1/2 with a 77" reach, Brewster has the same height and reach although Brewster is bigger. If Wladimir had trouble with Brewster, he will have his hands full with Evander who was really skilled and fast during his prime.Comment

Wlad couldn't handle Evander when he would start to open up and attack Wlad.
I have Evander by KO/TKO before 6.
But it is a fact that someone with a good jab could give Evander a lot of trouble (like Moorer, Lewis and Bowe did). But Wlad doesn't have the inside fighting skills or the trading ability Bowe had.Comment

I also want to point out that Lou Duva prepared Holyfield to deal with a boxer who uses his range. Duva and Holyfield expected Bowe to use the jab and fight at a distance, Holyfield never expected Bowe to be that good of a inside fighter, not to mention Bowe had one hell of a chin.Wlad handled Brewster in both fights very well, only he gassed in the 1st fight. Wladimir fights within distance he never fights within his opponents range. Holyfield would get to Wladimir's chin. That simple 1 2 that Wladimir does against most his opponents will not work. The question is can Wladimir fight in the inside effectively and does he have the chin to take Holyfield's punishment?Last edited by Boxingwizard; 05-27-2010, 12:43 PM.Comment

It would be hard, and I repeat, very hard for Holyfield to get past Wlad's jab. I don't see him doing it.Comment

It's like I always say when these threads pop up - could Wladimir have handled the sort of intensity Holyfield would have brought? We saw an older Evander give Lewis a few problems. This fantasy fight is very hard to judge. I'd still pick Holyfield as he proved himself against the best.Comment
