I also assume that Duva was involved in the decisions of Taylor's opposition and blame him for putting him in there with Terry Norris. Taylor moved up to WW and won the WBA title from undefeated Aaron Davis a year after losing to Chavez, but after that, struggled in a title defense against Glenwood Brown. Taylor was dropped twice and rocked several times. Then his management puts him in there with Norris.
i agree Duva distracted his ass. i think he could of said something to Steele but he was clearly distracted.

well he should with that red blinking light right behind Taylor's head lets the ref know there was 10 seconds left. still think it shouldnt of been stopped since like some said Chavez didnt have time to do anything else and since the dudes career went to a tragic end sometime after that fight. i agree with that guy on the Legendary Nights doc that Taylor should of at least been able to go on and have that win. sad what happened to Meldrick. he threw some awesome combos and loved watching his fights. yes Meldrick should of and i think he could of repsponed if he wasnt distracted but also the ref should of been aware of the time left in the fight.

Meldrick was a special fighter....he really had the potential to be a true great at 140-147.

One of the fastest fighters I've ever seen..maybe the fastest along with Jones Jr.

i'd watched the 12th round before a few times, and went on a HBO legendary nights spree the last few days and enjoyed that episode so i dl'd the fight 2 days ago.

Great fight, only the 3rd Chavez fight i'd seen in full. Loved the way he fought, and Taylor was VERY impressive too.

Im in 2 minds about the stopage, on one hand its very harsh on Talyor losing like that after fighting so brilliantly, and on the other hand, if the ref says he cant continue it shouldnt matter how long is left, so if he was allowed to finish the fight then Chavez would've been hard done by.

No matter what the ref decided, one fighter was geting screwed.

btw Taylor's corner man needs shot for telling him he needed to win the last round and then distracting him when the ref was asking him if he was ok.

what you on about one was getting screwed, chavez had 12 rnds to take out taylor and he landed a good solid flush shot which dropped taylor but he never had taylor out on his lges, taylor got back up at the count of 6 so he should of completed the fight.... did chavez f**k taylor up of course he did but taylor got up and steele and his corrupt ass stopped him

taylor won that fight he won at least 8 to 4 rounds with the knock down 7 to 5!!! 115 - 113

taylor was the one who got screwed not chavez!

i mean screwed not judges scorecards wise but what if the ref decided nah he's out of it on his feet, but there is only 2 seconds left, so im gonna let him finish the fight. Then Chavez would've been denied a legit victory.

Like u said, Chavez had 12 rounds to leave him unfit to continue, and he used every second of those 12 rounds to do it, but he did leave him unfit to carry on in the ref's eyes, know what i mean?

Like i said, whatever the ref decides to do (assuming he thinks Taylor cant fight on) is harsh on one of them.

Taylor had a combination of things going towards the end of the fight is the reason he lost, none of it benefited him. From his trainer from his corner telling him to win the round to getting distracted by Duva. Chavez did hit him with a monster right hand in the end after all that punishment and offensive activity. Taylor was a great fighter but he burned himself out early to top fighters
