I believe that Team Povetkin thought that by insulting Klitschko and accusing him of steroid use that they could somehow stall long enough to maneuver a vacated title for Povetkin.

Instead, I think this will cause Povetkin to lose his mandatory spot and put him back on the sidelines waiting for an easier road to the title.

Exactly. This is a tactic brought up by Team Sauerland who has a war going on against the Klitschkos.

Sauerland hates it when the Klitschkos "dictate the terms". That is why they deprived Nikolai Valuev the payday of his life against Vitali and that is why they are keeping Haye away from the Klitschkos.

I hope this one backfires on them. Just as it did when they tried to mock Ruslan Chagaev by pulling Valuev out of the fight a few days before the fight due to Chagaevs previous hepatitis problems - just to see Klitschko giving Chagaev a well paid chance instead.

But as you may think that Povetkin is not Mayweather, he is quite big in Russia. And if Sauerland wins the purseoffer, the fight will surely be held in Russia. That means that the fight would be supervised by the Russian federation and their rules might be in effect. And they would surely adapt the rules to suit Povetkin.

Yea i see that happening....but good try though putting Wlad on the spot by holding a conference just to make him take OST......its just an insult to ask a fighter to do that and put his name with PEDs
