Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux Has No Interest in Returning To Freddie Roach

Two-time Olympic gold medal winner Guillermo “The Jackal” Rigondeaux (5-0, 4KOs) reached out to BoxingScene.com to respond to a recent press release distributed by his manager of record, Gary Hyde. Over the last year, there was hostile legal battle over Rigondeaux's managerial contract. Hyde was able to win a legal judgement in December, and became the official manager of record. This story is not about Roach. This story is about the managerial contract with Hyde.

I don't see the point of the misleading title.

Roach is of course a big part of the story, but the point is the managerial contract, not a break with Roach on Rigondeaux's part, based on Roach not having the time for him.

Man, what are you talking about??? This isn't a case of someone being spoiled, the guy wants to fight on June 4th. This is a case of managers and promoters fighting over who has the right to him.

And that's a shame. How crappy would it be to see his career slowed down, or ruined because of legal battles and bad management.

This Hyde guy sounds like an *******. He's talkiing about having him fight in Ireland, England, and all over the world and showcasing him like he's some circus act.

Just let the guy fight. He needs to move very quickly.

Did you read the article? Obviously not.

He said he has nothing against Roach, but that Roach is training too many fighters and doesn't have the time. And Hyde seemingly has a stake in him training with Roach, based on the report.

And you don't think communication is important between trainer and fighter?

Yeah, he should just learn English instead of training with a guy he's comfortable with.

Take your racist bull**** somewhere else. ****head.

Technically the fighter is just as concerned with Hyde trying to push Roach upon him. I see the title as being no different as the press release sent out by Hyde with a title not related to his court win, but related to seeing the fighter back with Roach on an immediate basis. One title is responding to the other.

I see, I hadn't seen the other article. I found the title misleading, but this explanation makes perfect sense.
