No one else anywhere considered him #1. I'll take Ring's choices over Showtime's any day. I really don't think Hatton deserves a #1 spot, not just for beating Tszyu. Tszyu is really good, but he played into Hatton's game. Floyd would NOT allow Hatton to do that stuff to him; it'd be a much different fight.
I can't rank Hatton at number 1 for one reason: he's fought noone, really, except a couple of past their prime guys.Comment

Mayweather's good at throwing fast combinations and getting out before any return. He can even stand in the pocket and pick off shots all day as well. Hatton brings one hell of a workrate but he also brings a ton of holes for Mayweather to plug up. I don't see Hatton walking through Mayweather's punches all night. I don't think he will stop coming at Mayweather but he will get punished.Comment

I'd give hatton a slim chance, but I doubt he could handle floyd's quickness and ring smarts...
Secondly, kostya was generally regarded as either #3 or #4 p4p when hatton beat him, hopkins and floyd were without a doubt ahead of him.Comment

If he did, Mayweather would have put his track shoes on and out boxed him silly. Ricky is physically stronger IMO than Gatti yes. But he has 1 mode, and that is attack. He throws better body combinations than Gatti does, but leaves himself open to shots upstairs. Ricky showed his chin against just about every fighter he has faced, and it is extremely good. Accumulation of punishment from PBF is another story though....he would be forced to walk through hailstorms and coerce Mayweather into HIS fight. That fight will never be fought because Mayweather would not want to go toe to toe with Hatton.
I would never say the RESULT would be the same.....I am only speaking in terms of winning and losing. Ricky would not get stopped by Mayweather like Gatti did. I dont think there is a chance in hell that he would K.O. PBF, or outpoint him.
Then again, I guess we are back in the same boat as last time prior to the Hatton v.s. Tszyu fight, either way Ricky beating Floyd would be so god damn monumental that it would eclipse his victory over Tszyu times five.
