Nobody told Pac to fight Clottey, his gamble back fired and we knew that after he left the table that the same offer wouldnt be on the table again. One thing for sure is Pac has a bigger following and Mayweather has been getting the bigger PPV numbers and is the bigger attraction. After Pac looses his beloved fans will hopefully still love him like Hattons fans. Sorry Pac you can still make alot of money but 50/50 is out of the window. I still think that Pac couldve fought Mosley but he and Roach said that Mosley was too good and to big of a threat. When you snooze you lose. No question about it. Lets be totally honest Mayweather will do all of the promoting for the fight by talking trash and hyping it up because we know Pac want talk trash and he speaks little english IMO, WELL NOT ENOUGH TO ENSURE WELL OVER TWO TO THREE MILLION PPV's. The fight is already the biggest in the sport since Oscar and Floyd, notice I said Floyd and someone else because Manny fought Oscar and the numbers werent the same.

Excellent post and you make alot of good points, especially what's in bold. People seem to forget that the reason Floyd's PPVs do so well isn't solely because of his boxing ability. He works his ass off promoting the fight, most times more than the lead promoters. He gets people so riled up that you either want to see him prove how good he is or you want someone to beat the **** out of him. Arum and Pacquiao have to understand that all things are not equal in this fight, especially considering Floyd will be putting in more work.

All this fight needs is a news headline that says: "PACQUAIO-MAYWEATHer OFFICIAL FOR NOVEMBER" and that's all the promotion they need. People aren't going to buy the PPV because they hear Floyd running his mouth. This is one of those fights that need no promotion. It speaks for itself. They have more than enough press with this drug testing fiasco. 40-40, winner takes the extra 20. That is the only fair way to deal with it. Either that or 50-50.

I disagree with this. I don't think the people are as well informed about things as you suggest. Maybe alot of people understand the importance of such a fight, but for many others, they still need to be sold. It needs to be brought to people's attention why they need to pay $60 to see not just a megafight, but history in the making.
