I haven't seen the fight yet but any time you make a top pro fighter look silly in the ring you should get MAD, I mean MAD props. I heard its was a
boxing clinic and Gatti got an F-. Worse than DLH schooling Trinidad.

I think Hatton earned it after beating Kosta, Cotto is still a little green.

Fistic Art, if we could even understand what you were trying to write then maybe we could comment on it. That is most laughable excuse for the english language I may have ever witnessed or likely ever will witness.

          1. Floyd is pound for the pound the best in the world right now. (Which I think you may have been trying to say between all those commas & z's and that mad orgy of ebonics.)

          2. Fistic Art, you are the bubonic plague of literature. You need to smash your computer screen and cut your wrists with the shards... or at least go back to grade 2 and give it another shot. You should be outlawed from ever typing or speaking english ever again.

Oh, and Mayweather/Hatton is the only reasonable route to go for either fighter. Any other choice will only lose fans for each of them.

Floyd did a number on Gatti and it was good to see him speak about Gatti respectfully after the fight.

in the days leading up to the fight, I read how Floyd pronounced himself to be "the King of kings" and i see in this post he's called "god"...i know what people are trying to say when they make these statements, but there is but one King of kings - Jesus Christ and if Floyd is "god", it would have to be with a small "g"...

you gotta be careful what you allow to come out of your mouth even in jest...

Also after this performance i dont think he will fight anybody worthy, cause nobody is going to want to fight him. The only guy i can see giving him trouble is Hatton. Not cause Hatton is great or a anything but cause he doesnt get tired and he would bum rush Floyd all night throwing elbows and headbutts all night.
Hes "arrogant" but he cant back it up.

Gatti can take an inhuman beating. I'll always like Gatti as a boxer. He's not an elite fighter, but he's great to watch, even when he loses. I was not at all surprised that he was taken out so easily. But losing to Mayweather is not something to cry about. Mayweather his going to savage a lot more boxers in the next few years.

I really liked the interviews at the end of the fight. Mayweather finally showed that he doesn't have to be a jerk all the time. That fight will probably have gained him quite a few new fans. He gave Gatti some respect, which was very classy. Gatti didn't make any excuses, and admitted he lost to the better man. That's how boxers should behave after a fight. Even though it was very one-sided, I found the fight to be reasonably entertaining.

Mayweather seems to have settled into 140 very well. He looked much more like a natural 140 than he did in his previous 140 bouts. I think he could go to 147, easy. Even if he lost some speed, he'd be tons faster than anyone else. And now that he's carrying the weight better, his hitting much harder. He showed that he had some power tonight. I can't believe that Gatti could stay up after taking some of those combos.

Gatti should pack it in, I think. I love watching him fight, but he'll never get a title at 140 again, and he's not going to do much at 147. I don't need to see him get hurt and brain-dead. Tonight would be a good night for him to call it quits. He didn't look like he was conditioned as well in this fight as he has been in others, and I think it's because all te beatings have taken are really catching up to him now. 33 is pretty old for a guy that's taken so many punches.

All-in-all, my favourite part of the night was seeing how the fighters respected eachother at the end of the fight. Well, that and seeing Harris look terrible against the circus act.
