I'm no Klitschko fan but Briggs was never up to much in his prime, let alone now. A snooze-a-thon dominated by Wlad's jab with a KO coming in the last few rounds.

Briggs got schooled by Sultan Ibragimov, and he's even older now, enough said.

If Briggs got himself into serious condition and came in at 245lbs and had those fast hands back I'd say he'd have a chance.

briggs and haye both probably believe that Wladimir's 'suspect chin' is their quick route to fame, glory and a championship belt. Both probably look at the Sanders fight and go 'if he can do it, so can I'. The thing is, Wladimir does not slack on training and has improved under Steward.

BRiggs, actually, is the 1 fight I am afraid of wlad taking, seriously. Briggs countering ability is still second to none and is actually the ONLY time he punches now. He's great at only throwing as soon as he's thrown at.

Stylistically withhis size and power involved i can see him being a threat.. and it's sad, because him being the guy to do it is just so bad for boxing.
Doesn't, or didn't Lamon Brewster also fight in that wild way? Klitschko handled him masterfully, both times, he just gassed in the first fight.

Briggs is not Lamon Brewster, man. He's far bigger and hits harder. Briggs doesn't have a bad jab when he uses it either. I'm not saying the Briggs right now has a shot, but he potentially has if he gets his ass in gear and trains properly.

That's a pretty tall order Paul; Briggs has had conditioning issues for most of this decade and nothing I've seen or heard would indicate that he's dealing with said issues.

It is. But one would hope that Briggs would train hard if he were to ever fight Klitschko. Everybody knows the Briggs who fought Lewis would have had a serious chance. All Briggs needs to do is shake all of that rust off [and there's a ton of it.] But he can potentially do it - that's all I'm saying. He may well be too far gone though. Who knows.

Train or not, he has serious health problems, or at least that was his excuse before his suspension for banned substance abuse.
