Despite my reluctance to engage in much discussion about the fight, my interest has actually increased tenfold. I wasn't too keen on the idea before, but after seeing both guys dominate their highly-regarded opponents this year, I want to see it more than ever.

If it never happens, it'll end up as boxing folklore which will be talked about forever - "Could Floyd Mayweather Jr. have derailed the Manny Pacquiao wrecking train? Could Manny Pacquiao have taken Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s '0' and shocked the world"?

    It has to happen.

I was never that interested in it, I'm sure Mayweather would beat him.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter.

If the negotiations fell through the 2nd time, then I'll lose interest.

When was Clottey highly regarded? I agree with the rest of your points...

I havent lost interest. I wish Roach, Arum and Pacquiao would stop talking and agree to the test though. They know what they have to do yet they continue to claim Mayweather is "ducking" the fight. lol

No, I haven't lost interest however, Mayweather vs Martinez is starting to look like a more viable/attractive alternative each an everyday. The handwriting is on the wall for a Pac vs Margarito fight as well as a Pac vs Foreman/Cotto winner so I don't expect PBF vs Pac to happen in 2010. Team Pac is doing to same **** they did during the 1st round of negotiation and haven't even gotten in contact with Team Mayweather or GBP yet. STFU!!!

Well, besides Berto and Mosley he was considered the best WW out there who hadn't yet been destroyed by anyone. Maybe not highly regarded overall, but in the division he was.

Both Mayweather and Pacquiao have collectively destroyed the WW division, with only guy remaining who hasn't yet been polished off - Berto.
