    question

    first i would like to commend the TS for this making this thread and here's the link: http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=391413

    am enlightened and agree with most of posters saying that there should have at least 2 belts.

    now, may i know how did it happen that there have become numerous belt under different divisions?

    Because, more people saw it as a way to make more money by creating more belts and therefor having fighters to pay sanctioning fees.

    That is why I like that JBC only recognize the WBC and WBA. I think the ABC should do the same.

        Boxing's damn near always had two belts that were more or less recognized and respected.

        The precursor to the WBA was the NBA. There was also the NYSAC champs.

        The WBC was created in the 1960s, and for awhile, you mainly just had the WBC and WBA champs. Then the WBO and IBF were formed in the 1980s, and things just got out of hand. "Regular" champs, "Super" champs, etc...
