    The funny thing is...

Mike Tyson could probably STILL come back and people would rush to their seats and tv sets to see what happens next...though it is obvious he would just take a beating, bite, or quit...the public will still be there...especially if he came back with some 1st round KO over a Clifford Etienne again...

but I don't even think Tyson could even beat Etienne again...lol

    *yes, another Tyson post...=)

Tyson is still a factor in the boxing business, maybe not in terms of challenging for a title.... but 250K buys for a PPV will ensure that some 2-bit promoter will gather up a few investors and throw down 4-5 million to Aluminum Mike for him to fight some bum at some big arena...believe me, we DEFINITELY haven't seen the last of Mike Tyson in a controlled combat arena, he may go to K-1, Pride, UFC, etc, but he'll be back

If Tyson did another PPV it wouldn't break 80,000 buys, mark my words.

alright, well, 80K buys times $50 = 4 MILLION DOLLARS, then add the gate revenue and sponsorships, and the promoters could still afford to pay Mike around $3 million in order to cover thier own costs and to make $$$ for themselves and the cable companies....even at 80K buys, Mike is still profitable

You're not taking into account the venue, promotion and all the sticky fingers that get their hands in the pot. 80,000 PPV buys doesn't mean 3 million dollar paydays all around believe me.
