Why does Miguel catch so much bad flack?

Margarito was very popular in PR before he got caught, Miguel Cotto is loved by real mexican fans for his agressive style and his heart and determination.

It's strange because it's not just Mexicans, it's all different types of people. It's a shame because not only is Miguel a very respectful man, he fights exciting, has always wanted the best, and is proud of who he is. Miguel has worked on his English over the years and speaks it well, very dedicated individual. If English was his first language he would be a great ambassador for the game, much better than DLH, Pac, or Mayweather would be. As an American I am somewhat jealous that we don't have a fighter with the heart and passion of Miguel. PR has an all time great fighter and person.

Is this just the Mexicans bitching because of their short comings? Besides the top two fighters in the sport, no one gets more heat. You really don't see PR's knocking Mexicans left and right, but with Miguel or Juan Ma, you bet your ass a Mexican is knocking them. I have my theory that Mexicans are still pissed that Cotto lost to Margarito, yet he still is a bigger star. What they tend to forget is boxing popularity is not an exact science and we reward fighters that show respect for others and the game. Miguel is a great human being and Mexicans shouldn't be pissed over past fights that haven't gone their way. If you can't let it go, then I can't either. Hit me up when Margarito is fighting in Dodger Stadium.

Well i think it goes both ways sum ricans dnt like mexicans like that guy iceta and others. Its just in boxing mexicans and ricans will never get along. Im mexican and i respect cotto for having the balls to fight any one but i dont respect juanma for ducking cab and trying to fight the winner of vazquez marquez who are not the same after their wars. But most ricans are Still mad that margarito took miguels And cintrons 0. And with the beating he gave miguel he wasnt the same. And i know ya gonna bring up he cheated but i would love to see the rematch so margarito could prove that it was his non stop presure that won the fight.

I always see people bagging on Miguel and how would you feel if Margarito didn't cheat? Would you still respect Miguel? It's easy to disown Marg because he was caught but if he wasn't people would be praising him like the next JCC and calling Miguel the nastiest of names.

Funny thing is, I have always been a fan of Cotto. I got called a Cotto hater once by BMWP (or whatever his name is), and CHampboxPR, but then I broke it down on how I had been watching Cotto since before he appeared on the Tito/Reid undercard.

Then he shattered his entire right arm in that accident. They were like "oh ok, you do know about Cotto"...

I only give Cotto crap, cause his fans turned into Floyd supporters after years of warring with them, just casue Manny broke him off.

That didn/t sit well with me. Then again, I don't really give Cotto fans any crap...

Because his hardcore fans hyped him up as this unbeatable fighter that was a big threat to Floyd Mayweather and he didn't have the balls to fight him contrary to popular belief. Ask yourselves this. If Miguel is so good then why did he go life and death with the version of Shane Mosley and yes I mean same version that Mayweather fought? A Mosley with his mouth wide open gasping for breath? And yet it was Cotto who had to fight to survive at the end of the fight. Also a lot of his fans make it out like he dominated Mosley and in turn don't really give Floyd any credit for beating Mosley. They are claiming that Mayweather fought a worse version when in reality it was probably an equal or better one since he had Richardson as his trainer and he didn't have a ref or judges to rig the fight like Cotto did. I'm not even a hardcore Floyd fan, but why does he get bashed when he has accomplished more than Cotto and fought better opposition overall?

Why can't Cotto actually beat a fighter for a title for once instead of floating through a vacant belt oddysea? Why is that? Can you answer that for me?
