Sugar Ray Robinson had some SICK cardio...

I was just watching Sugar ray vs Jake Lamotta VI on comcast ondemand(Go to sports-ESPN-Classic Boxing) it's the one were Robinson stopped him. I think this just shows how great he really was. The 1st rounds were jake rounds, I think Sugar Ray gets hit more easily then an ATG should be he has a great chin with a great offense so it's all good.

But as the rounds went on he just started getting better and better. It seemed like he got better as the fight went on. The later rounds were freakin awesome, they went at it! But Lamotta has an ATG chin and Sugar Ray just turned him into a numb punch drunk punching bag by the end of the fight.

This was like Sugar Ray at one of his bests. Before this I only saw his aging fights so I didn't know how I would see him fair against today's fighters but after watching these fights, I think he has a great shot against them all! I think if he fought now-a-days with the advancement in training/nutrition/ect., he would be an absolute monster.

R.I.P The Greatest of all time Sugar Ray Robinson!

Ray Robinson wouldn't last a round with the slick skills of myself.

I'd have smoked his boots, just like I would Joe Calzaghe's.

If you spend enough time looking for them you can find a few of his fights at Welter in his prime where he truly was unmatched .

LaMotta's ability to absorb punishment was unreal. The last 3 rounds was like a butchering. Robinson was hitting him with every punch in the book.

I wish there was a lot of video of Ray Robinson at Welterweight. Supposedly he was absolutely deadly.
