You evidently failed to take into account my opening post - I've known lots of Somalians over the past 2 decades, have seen groups of them around the city, and all anyone needs to do is read about their country to find out how angry they are over there. They are very, very pissed.

I'm not going by media stereotypes here - these are hard facts familiar to anyone who knows their stuff. I didn't even remember the pirate thing until jonaire mentioned it in his post.

I was gonna say this. It's the same answer as why they're no fighters from Iraq or something like that. There may be some pretty poor countries that have fighters come out of it but Somalia is extremely poor. A poor country like Ghana had a few fighters come out of it so the sport got picked up and practiced. If a Somalian fighter breaks through then maybe the same can happen.
