I think it has allot to do with the neck and shoulders.

One of the most important that I forgot to mention

      The legs.

        yea

hearns had some skinny toothpick legs but hagler had big legs

other fighters with big legs who absorb punishment well...

tua(was he ever ko'd?too lazy to check boxrec),foreman, rahman

then i look at lewis legs and they're not small yet he goes down for the count if you hit him right

maybe it's like a combination of strong legs/shoulders/neck/jaw

Its a brace urself for impact thing, most great chins of Boxing know every single time they **** up, and their brain braces for impact. They expect and see the punch coming because they are smart enough to recognize their mistake and know they are going to get hit more often than the regular chinned men.

Not that Holyfield is un-KOable, but there's no way he should be able to take a shot like this and not go down...

Yeah I dont think so either. I dont understand how Kassim Ouma took a couple of huge right hand bombs from Jantuah either. He did not even blink. Those punches were really ****ing nasty.

bracing yourself definately plays a big part

Castillo is un-knockdownable.He's been TKOed 5 times but never knocked down in his long 60 fight career.

If the ref didnt catch him, I promise you he would of touched the matt.
