Nah, that's cool though, I've met alot of Laos and not one have introduced themselves as Laotian, they usually say Thai or sometimes Filipino, lol.

Because the people in general don't even know what Laos is. That's why I say I'm Laos instead of Laotian because that would confuse the people even more.

Howcome some of the Hispanic groups, when mistaken for Mexican generally would correct that person who misidentified them ? Not the case with the Laos, it's like they prefer to be thought of as Filipino or Thai.

Well I don't misinform people. I state that I'm Laos or Laotian (depends on how I feel). But I was just saying that most Laotian people don't want to explain where and what Laos is when you can just say Thai and most people would know what Thai or Thailand is.
