Too much credit is given for titles at numerous weight classes.

Its true. The titles have little to no meaning at all. Any idiot can have a title and the way the relationships are between the ABC org's and the promoters, most of the "title" fights are nothing more than staged transfer ceremonies for selected fighters.

None of it is merit based.

Of course, I have boxed. 7 pounds difference is noticeable and can influence the fight. But 4 pounds or less doesn't. What is the point of having weight classes when fight night there is a weight gap

        108
        112
        115
        118

This is beyond ridiculous. 3 to 4 pounds difference, is nothing. There should be a minimum 5 pounds difference between weight classes. I put on 3 pounds during the course of a day and lose 3 pounds after gym. This actually takes away the meaning of winning titles at different weight classes.

The hardest weight class jump is from 140 to 147(No including CW to HW).

        Why

Because they never moved up 7 pounds and faced much bigger bodies. But jumping from 112 to 115 is not as credible. It's more of a skip than a jump

Agree to disagree. I've boxed myself and I disagree entirely with that, 4 lbs can make a big difference, you seem to be saying it's no big thing to hop up a weight division. It isn't for certain fighters who are special and whose physical frame is one which can incorporate additional muscle without sacraficing speed, but for the vast majority it is, hence the weight classes. U made a good point though, some fighters gain a lot of weight between the weigh-in and fight and therefore it's kinda unfair on fight night.

i think tht what roy jones jr did is more impressive than pac and mayweather. ruiz weighed 226 at the weigh in which is a difference of 66 pounds which is more than double both of those. however winning 5/7 world titles in different weights is impressive and only certain fighters are good enough to do it i.e. someone like hatton couldnt move up through the weights as he depends on his weight too much

so many titles and multiple weight-classes makes the accomplishment water down.

However, if this is a way to discredit Pac. Then let just remember one thing.

2 of the original 8 weight-class were Flyweight and Featherweight. Pac has been the only fight in history to have won a lineal Flyweight title and a lineal Featherweight title.

Pac along with Tony Canzoneri and Henry Armstrong, 2 ATG's, are the only fighters in the last 90 years to be a triple champion in winning lineal titles from Featherweight to at least Junior Welterweight(Armstrong did it at WW).

Pac is the only fighter in the last 90 years to be a 4 division lineal champion.

Pac is the only fighter in the last 30 years to win 7 titles in 7 divisions.

And, he might get 8. Again if it is soooooooooooo easy then why hasn't anybody else done or come close to it?

Also to say that is easy to win a title in the lower weight-classes. Is not true at all. Your body type and bone structure of the smaller fighters makes it even harder to win at the at the lower weights.

If you don't believe me then tell me how many 4 division champs have there been 130 and below?

Now how many 4 division champs have there been at 135 and above?

So don't give me this bull**** that Pac hasn't really accomplish **** or that his accomplishments are overrated.

But, with Roy Jones none of them were really the real champ. Again he benefited from having multiple titles in a division. Now at 168 Toney was the best fighter in the division. However, he was not the lineal champ so he was not the real champ. But, he was the best fighter. So you give him credit for that one. But, in all his the other weight-class he fought in he didn't beat the real champ and thus benefited from having a water down titles and divisions.

And, how many fighters have won titles in every single one of those weight-classes?

Who said anything about someone winning in every single one of those weight-classes?

Moving up from 112 to 115 isn't comparable or good as moving from 140 to 147

This thread applies to all fighters including PBF. I used Pacman as an example
