So if you're not implying that the Oscar that Pac fought was better than the Shane that Floyd fought, then what exactly is the purpose of showing these numbers?

Because Oscar wasn't getting hurt by Pacquiao's punches. He said it himself that it was the speed that messed him up.

Mosley was different because everything he tried didn't work, he couldn't hit Floyd for **** after that hayemaker. Then Floyd hurt him many times, snapped his head back with just about every punch. The inside fighting exhausted Mosley to death, he underestimated Floyd's strength, got his neck muscles strained.

So of course Oscar was going to be more active. He wasn't utterly dominated, mentally and physically. Not even by bombardment but by poking and prodding, discouraging, one shot punching. That's much worse than just being straight beat up. Breaking a man's heart and spirit is much more devastating than being beat up.
