His opponent will be former Japanese Bantam king Shoji Kimura, respected boxer. In attendance during the fight will be Thai Hall of Fame Great Khaosai Galaxy, who predicts that Poon will knock Kimura out.

Oh excellent, Poonsawat is a great fighter. Kimura is coming off a SD loss though, funny how he got this title shot.

Yea it does seem odd that he got this shot with the loss. But he did reel off some respectable wins prior to that so hopefully he'll be in good form. I just like watching Poon fight with his boring in pressure style, he makes any fight exciting.

Kimura's nothing to write home about, but Poonsawat's probably the top super bantam weight in the world. He quite an exciting pressure fighter with some vids up on youtube. He has some good wins over Bernard Dunne, Ricardo Cordoba, Satashi Hosono and Somsak Sithwatchal.

There were talks of him fighting Japanese Hozumi Hasegawa in an Asian Superfight after he faced Fernando Montiel, but then Hasegawa got brutally koed.
