    Dibella wants Hopkins/Tito for Taylor!

    DiBella: Bring on Hopkins, Tito!
    By Scotti Vandevender
A jubilant Lou DiBella, promoter for Saturday’s exciting “Season’s Beatings” card in Little Rock, AR, heralded Jermain Taylor’s performance and rejoiced in his fighter’s dominating victory over former champ William Joppy. "Jermain is willing to fight Bernard (Hopkins) in his next fight. If we can get a 25% split, we will take it right now," he proclaimed in regards to a possible match-up with the long-reigning middleweight champ. "February is awfully quick but we could do it in March or April. Ask Bernard if he wants to come out and play!" DiBella also committed to talking with Don King regarding another highly anticipated match up against Felix 'Tito' Trinidad. "Tito Trinidad would be a bigger money fight, so we’ll talk to Don King....Jermain has finished the learning curve and is ready for anybody," DiBella boasted as a wide grin crawled across his face, stamping the mark of confidence his young fighter has now instilled in him. (More to come)

Dibella has said this after every Taylor win for about three fights now.

Taylor is getting to the elite status.

Unfortuantely, Joppy lost the first 5 rounds and started getting battered toward the middle of the fight.

Once Joppy decided that he was not going to go down brutally like he did with Trinidad, Joppy started to stink up the joint.

Just because Taylor could not take out Joppy, does not mean that he is not ready for Trinidad / Hopkins.

If Taylor could really get a 25% split with either fight, he should take it as an investment in the future and if he loses, he has plenty of career left to recover.

Wait up, what about that 25% thing? Would that be his payment?

I think Taylor is big enough so that he can be a PPV main event with a superstar. Both Tayor Tito and Taylor Hop are 10 Mil fights, so Taylor is looking at a payday in the 2-3 million range.

As a comparison, he probably get about 300-400K for fighting Joppy with Joppy getting 50-100K.

Don't quote me on that, I made up the numbers.

That would be good fight. Would Winky risk it tho? He doesn't have much to gain if he beats taylor. I do think that Taylor still needs some good fights. Juarez, Diaz & even Bojado have all been in tought fights before getting higher profile fights. Taylor needs more seasoning.

The fight with Hopkins will never happen. Lou Dibella and Hopkins will not do business together again after that nasty lawsuit.
