      James Toney going to the UFC isn't good for anyone, except maybe James Toney if he gets a decent payday. It makes the UFC look suspect by pitting a 0-0 fighter against one of their former champions, and it'll make boxing look bad when Randy wins easily.

      However I wouldn't read too much into it, in the long run it doesn't really mean anything, just a freakshow fight to sell tickets (if it actually happens).

            He has a chance, but he's doing nothing to secure it. That's why people write him off.

            Sylvia/Mercer has nothing to do with this.
