Proof that Vitali is the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion

I was reading the newspaper today and noticed a Vitali reference in the comics section. He was mentioned as "the heavyweight champion of the world" in the strip "Get Fuzzy".

I'm glad I could end this silly little debate.

Well, I guess I'd rather have the author of "Get Fuzzy" running the boxing world than Don King...

You know everyone here seems to always blast Don King and while he has done his share of dirt let us not all forget that the other promoters are crooks as well. I know you all remember the fact that Bob Arum Was caught rigging the rankings in the early 90's so that George Foreman Could fight an easier fight. Foreman even testified against him along with some other boxers. Yes don King is Crooked too (As far as promoters go they are all the same Sh.. Just a different pile. If you could kill the networks and the promoters we could actually get some great fights going and we could have had some of yesteryears fights happen that were missed due to networks and promoters. (I will definitely get more red added to my bar for this because whenever I dont think whatever everyone else thinks I get red bar Karma nonsense but guess what? I don't care.

Without HBO and Showtime we wouldn't see any fights. It's not like boxing is going to be on shown on NBC and ABC regularly.

when I say kill the networks I dont mean that literally. THe problem is try getting the networks together again. they both vowed that after the Lewis Tyson fight that they would never do it again.

I think that Tyson is the true champion, but he'll need to beat a few of the other contenders to prove it. Maybe we'll see him against #1 contender Lennox Lewis by the end of the year.

Well I mean he only lost to McBride, which isn't so bad. It's not like he lost to a complete bum like James Toney for instance.

Vitali has no greater claim to the "real" heavyweight championship than Chris Byrd. In fact, given that he lost to Byrd, Byrd's claim at this point seems stronger.

I'd favor Vitali in a rematch, but that doesn't make him the real champ yet.
