I love how people still keep citing the weight in Mayweather-Hatton as any kind of significant factor.

    Oh, brother.

It is not a big deal beating a fighter who is not an elite fighter in your weight-class. Period, not a big deal.

Wlad Klitschko would get zero credit from me for beating Chad Dawson, who IMO is an elite P4P fighter, at heavyweight.

Chad Dawson should not get credit for beating Martinez at 175.

P4P is an all mythical opinion, everybody has a different P4P list. Make a thread and ask for a top 10-20 P4P list and I bet you damn near all of them will be different someway. Because, P4P is a MYTHICAL OPINION based ranking.

        Gimme a break man.
Hopkins rabbit punches Floyd and hugs him for 12 rds. Floyd blows up and tries to retaliate but Hopkins feigns a lowblow to recover. Hopkins would be hip punching, headbutting, and elbowing Floyd until he broke.

I think it'd be an ugly-looking fight, Floyd vs. a 160 version of how Hopkins fights now. And I like a lot of those fights of both Hopkins' and Floyd's that people usually cite as ugly or boring.

Floyd vs. an early 2000's Hopkins would be compelling.

i agree that p4p is opinion driven. But winning Lineal Championships and Championships isnt.

We have 16 weight classes now. most seperated only by 4-8 pounds...
So Weight Classes really do not matter it they are within 10 pounds of each other when we are talking about elite fighters.

I would favor Floyd over anybody 160 and below. Why because he is so elite that a difference of 13 pounds South or North would not matter.

and that still doesnt change the fact that his last 5 fights have been against top fighters.

            Mayweather last 5 fights:

Won 147 LB Lineal Championship AGAIN and
beat the #1 WW and P4P#3 in the world
Completely Shut out the P4P #2 fighter in the WORLD after 2 years off!!!
Defended his 147 LB Championship against the #5 P4P fighter in the world and former WW champion (wba)
            Won 154 LB Championship
            Won 147 LB Lineal Championship

Now not once did I say that his win over Shane is meaningless, and a potential win over Pac is not meaningless either. They both were elite fighters in his weight-class.

What I am saying is that lets not say a win over a P4P is a big deal. When that P4P fighter is not an elite fighter in your weight-class. Shane and Pac both P4P and elite fighters in his weight-class.

IMO I don't care where you rank P4P but if you not an elite fighter at a weight-class. Then your P4P ranking means ****.
