In all honesty pure boxers dont get to the level, status or celebrity that Floyd has reached by keeping that basic pure boxing style. Thats what makes Floyd really special to alotta hardcore boxing fanatics and boring to some casual fans.
RJJ, Ali, Tyson and many other marquee name used their special talents speed, strength, and athleticism to separate themselves from that "pure boxer" mold.

Do you know that no one in the world fits perfectly into any 1 category? I dont know how many times I got to mention the applicaton of all around boxing skills and abilities constitutes my definition of Pure boxing. Adding your god given gifts on top of pure boxing skill does not mean your all of a sudden not a pure boxer. You seem to think one guy is not a boxer cause he holds his hands low, or because he hooks more than jabs. Roy's footwork is that of a pure boxer, I know the art when I see it.
