You are right about pure boxers ruling the sport as far as being the best. But some of the people you named like Ali and Roy Jones are not "pure" boxers, but very gifted fighters. Jones never developed fundamental or "pure" boxing skills, but used his God given physical abilities to out fight some good fighters very easily.

If Ali wasnt a pure boxer Cassuis Clay was... He worked off the jab, used the entire ring, used range and head movement to avoid punishment! If he wasnt what a pure boxer, i dont know what is. Hit and not get hit is the "boxer" motto. He wasnt orthodox, but definetly a pure boxer. If you can tell me what Ali is categorized then by all means explain..
