Comments Thread For: Danny Green-Shane Cameron Could Be in The Works

According to multiple reports in New Zealand, heavyweight Shane Cameron (24-2, 20KOs) is dropping down to cruiserweight for a potential shot at IBO champion Danny Green (29-3, 26KOs) in the fall. Cameron plans shed some weight to fight at cruiserweight on the undercard of Green's next title defense set to take place in July. If they both win, Cameron says a fight is being negotiated for the fall.

he will never make cruiser, he'd have to drop 35lbs, and he's not fat

The same Cameron that took some of the hardest punches ive EVER seen from Tua? I dont think Danny Green is that good and Shane can take him

Interesting yet whacky match-up. They should both meet at 210-ish.

yeah, cameron got poleaxed but he did take a MASSIVE amount of shots, he wasn't ko'd in one hit.

green has nowhere near the firepower of tua, so shane can win IF he can make weight which i doubt

Danny may as well fight Cameron if he can't get a decent fight/name. Has to stay active especially at his age.

Yea i dont see it, because he would have to lose alot of lean mass and its a pretty big drop.....he will give Danny a good fight though

Cameron will be dead at the weight. I don't see the point of this. Green should have capitalized on his Roy Jones win better.

Considering that he got a clubbing from Tua, he may be somewhat susceptible.

Green, having been so successful with Jones, has likely (if he's smart) been practicing hooked punches directed to the back of the head, behind the ear.....

So, it looks good for him. I think Cameron has a built-up resume.

There's always a catch with Green, since moving to cruiser to avoid a mandatory defence against Hugo Garay and a rematch with Mundine, he's fought 4 times, 3 lightheavyweights and a middleweight, all veterans in their final career fight (except Jones). Now he expects a buffed Cameron to drop 15kgs of mostly muscle, at least he'll be fighting someone heavier than 82kg for once. C'mon Danny why don't you fight a proper 90kg cruiserweight in their prime like Huck or Cunningham.
