Should MMA gloves be the same size as regulation Boxing gloves?

I don't feel 4 Ounce padded MMA gloves is adequate protection for the fighters. Others feel they're safer because they mean faster KOs and less prolonged damage.

Shouldn't glove size in combat sports be standardized? K1 uses boxing style gloves. Full Contact Karate does too.

These MMA Sparring gloves allow for smooth grappling and provide more padding then the baseball gloves they're using now.

If they aren't made to use them we'd have an excuse to use their gloves and we all know that ain't happening.

Those too little gloves are the only reason MMA is making money. Somebody get this idea to Don King and Bob Arum.

No, MMA fights generally don't last anywhere near as long as boxing bouts. It wouldn't be suitable.

BTW, it's the bigger gloves that cause the damage, not the smaller ones. Boxers take way too many punches.

So Mayweather and Pacquiao should fight with 4 ounce gloves? Mayweather wins Jack Johnson style!
