He should have dropped the belt when he signed to fight Mayweather.

It baffles me that the (pretty much) undisputed LW champion with 4 title belts hasn't fought at the weight for 15 months. :shk1: I'm surprised that the WBA and IBO haven't complained.

At least Pavlik, for all his infections and whatnot, still managed to defend his titles twice last year.

Katsidis is right.............Marquez had half a ****ing year after his loss to Mayweather to give the interim champ a shot at the title but he opts to rematch Juan Diaz......

wtf is that? fair enough Marquez is fighting for big money now but this was a clear snub

Agree 100%, but..... you admitted, and then VERY quickly dismissed the fact that the Diaz fight is the best money-fight at 135 for Marquez.

You can petition to defer a mandatory if you are the champ, although Im not sure if that has happened in this case..... and I have heard of fighters taking legal action to enforce mandatories.

The writer used the word "ducking" in the headline. Katsidis doesn't say the word once. He made the inference Marquez lied to him about his inability to make 135. That's all.

Everyone knows Marquez wants one more fight with Pacquiao, and while JMM hopes for a shot against his white whale, Katsidis wants a shot against HIS white whale, who just happens to be Marquez. So I predict further unhappiness in this pursuit for Katsidis. If the fight were to happen, it'd be very hard to bet against JMM. But first we see what he's got left against Diaz. Great battles all round.

JMM has faced 2 men that beat Katsidis. Fought Pac 2x and Barrera in wars. Don't think he is ducking Kats. Honestly I think he should dump the belt. I think Robert Guerrero and Humberto Soto are better fights. Don't know if you guys would agree with me

Glad to see you're pushing for your fighter to get his big shot with sound logic. I don't ever think he's going to fight Katsidis. Katsidis has never had a world title and has failed twice against B+/A- guys. This is why I don't understand the outporing I've seen for him. He's had three good wins in a row and four overall thats great but that doesn't make it automatic for him to get a shot. A lot of the reasoning is that he is the "mandatory" since when do "mandatories" matter when there is four or five belts at each division, this is lame. Kat will get a title shot in his next one or two fights no need to hound Marquez for the oppurtunity. By the way Pacquiao got his chin cracked AT THAT WEIGHT, those knockouts convinced him that he was draining himself way too much he moved up in weight after both of them and he's gotten better and better every time he's gone up thus improving his chin and apparently every other skill. Your chin is cracked when you get hit with one of those shots or multiple shots and you can't recover he still might have a decent beard but he's been down and pretty much out.

I don't remember marquez ever ducking anyone. So this is how fighters do it now? Say other fighters are ducking them to get a fight? I call bull**** on this.
