    Floyd-JLC I and II Question

Just wondering if I am the only person on this website who believes floyd won the first fight by a wider margin than the second fight?? So I'm basically asking if I'm the only one who agrees with the judges scorecards for both fights.

It's just interesting that whenever floyd-jlc 1 gets brought up everyone is in unanimous agreement that floyd lost, EVEN *****S!!! I had floyd winning the first fight 9-3 (116-110) and the second one 8-4 (116-112) which are fairly on par with the judges.

    Who's with me?

I had the first fight 115-113 Mayweather, second fight 117-111.

I just don't understand why people say the first fight was a robbery, it was a close fight that could've gone either way, Castillo was landing body shots at close range which wasn't having any impact at all.

I thought Floyd won both fight by very close margins.

Maybe a draw in the first fight. You can argue that Floyd won all of the first five rounds in the first fight.

the first fight i had very close cus i scored alot of castillo's body shots and floyd's lack of movement at times but i think i had scored it 114-113 Mayweather. But the second fight was a wipe out. Think i had it 10 round to 2

Guess I'm going to bite the bullet with you. I have both fights on DVD but only took the time out to watch the first fight repeatedly and score because I still don't see what the hoopla was about. I had Floyd winning first fight by more than a few rounds. Like another poster said Castillo did nothing for the first 5 rounds. Yes he came on late but that was only in comparison to him doing nothing early on. Most of his shots were either blocked (by Floyd's elbows) or dodged by Floyd. WATCH the fight carefully and without the volume off so that you are not swayed by HBO commentary who were already in hate mode on Floyd a few fight before. Foreman was always critical and soon Merchant and Lampley followed suite. Lederman's cards on some of Floyd's fight boggled the mind and this fight was just another example. (I have all of Floyd's fight before he retired). I even had Floyd winning both rounds where points were deducted so I scored one round 10-8 for Floyd and the one where he got a point deduction 9-9. Sometimes when a fighter is so dominant you tend to look for rounds to give opponents, i.e. rounds where Floyd did not look as good. Prime Roy same thing and I think that happened here to the HBO commentators. Please also remember he was injured as he clearly says it early on between rounds in the corner although that had no bearing on the fight to me because he didn't look injured to me. The second fight was anti-climatic I guess because there was less drama involved. I never take compubox numbers seriously and didn't in this fight. There is no way Castillo landed clearer punches in this fight. Call me whatever that is how I saw it, I do remember giving Castillo the last two rounds which was surprising to me because Floyd always finished strong and I thought he would have stepped it up in a seemingly close fight. Perhaps he knew he had one the fight. Now I know that judges are human and we have seen plenty of examples of where the scorecards are just unexplainable but in a seemingly close fight we would at least see a split decision or very close scores and if memory serves me right they ALL had Floyd winning comfortably. That's got to count for something. If you want to see a closer fight and the fighter that gave Castillo the blueprint watch Floyd's fight with Jesus Chavez which I believe was the fight before Castillo 1l. Now Floyd was winning the rounds but he took far more punishment in that fight than in Castillo 1 in my opinion. I wish there was a way where we could all sit down and watch the fight and talk about it as it going along and be able to pause, rewind etc. Maybe those in disagreement might see our way of seeing things and vice versa.

There is no way Floyd won the first fight by 4 or 5 rounds. You have to completely ignore Castillo's gameplan and how well he was beating Floyd up to the body to score that any better than a round or two Floyd's way. Those scorecards were a joke.

The second fight, Floyd won it much easier.

I scored the first bout a draw. Second winning I think I had Floyd winning pretty decisively, like 8-4 or 9-3.

                  1. I had Floyd comfortably winning both the first and second fights.

                  2. Floyd was outweighed by 10lbs on fightnight of the 1st fight.

                  3. It was Floyd's first time fighting at the weight moving up and challengign the CHAMPION (Castillo) and Floyd was the underdog

                  4. Floyd was not only outweighed by 10lbs at a new weightclass by the CHAMPION but also injured his arm in the early fight and still owned Castillo
