Castillo vs. Casamayor

Am I blind, or are there no threads on this yet? I looked to make sure I wasnt making a repeat thread...didnt see any.
Anyway, I thought it was a great fight, and a very close one at that. Personally I scored it 115-113 for Castillo, but could have lived with a draw. That score of 117-111 was an insult to Casamayor! If they both had been a little less cautious (although I understand the need...heavy hitters both) it would have been nothing but fireworks! Still a great fight and I would love to see a rematch

i thought casa won the fight. i honestly couldnt see it as less than a draw or a slim win for casa. i was shocked when they said that castillo won. it was a boring fight but imo it calls for a rematch. i could be biased because casa is one of my fav fighters though

There was a thread after the fight but don't know what happened to it. I had it 115-114 for Casamayor. Casamayor controlled most of the fight early with Castillo coming on late but a little too late. I also thought Casamayor did alot better in the later rounds than Al Bernstein gave him credit for. I don't have a problem with Castillo winning but not by 116-112 or even worse 117-111.

I like 'em both...but like Casa just a little bit more, so it's a good sign then that I scored the win for Castillo. I've been accused of not being objective before, so this is cool. It wasnt as dynamic as it could have been, but it wasnt boring to me at all. At anytime a ko could have happened....just being aware of that had me very alert. When the rd's are THAT close..and it's so hard to score, the only way I know to do it is to score that particular round by the minute. Like, who won the 1st min, then who won the 2nd, etc...at the end of the rd. I look and see who won 2 of those min's and that's the winner of the rd. on my card. Kinda elementary..but it works for me

Okay, you fellas got me doubting myself...so, I'm gonna watch it again! And I'll even enjoy it! I'd love to be able to give the nod to Joel; like I said, I like them both but have always like Joel more and wanted him to win after the loss to Diego!

i hate to think about it like that but it is the truth. boxing should have a league so that stuff like that doesnt happen

I didnt get to see the fight however most sites i checked that were doing round by round either had a draw or had Castillo winning by a couple of rounds.

Thats a shame...I love watching Joel fight. I agree that Castillo handels Diego pretty easy too!
