Comments Thread For: Mayweather-Mosley Bumps Tyson With $11,032,100 Gate

After all the ticket sales were tallied, the May 1 Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Shane Mosley mega-fight produced the 10th largest paid gate in Nevada history. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, the final paid figure was $11,032,100. The official paid attendance was 14,038. Closed circuit sales of an additional 12,879 seats generated another million dollars in revenue. Mike Tyson's rematch with Frank Bruno was bumped from Nevada's top ten. It produced a gate of $10,673,700 in 1996.

Funny how his PPV numbers are so over the top but his ticket sales are usually pretty low. I mean yeah it was the 10th highest revenue but he sold nearly 2000 less tickets than Manny vs Cotto....he still did $2.5mill more. Hell Manny vs Cottey had 50,000 in attendance n Floyd vs Oscar still earned more than $4million more. I wish they'd bring his ticket prices down a bit n let more ppl in, the Mosley fight had one of the worst crowds ever, it was all rich ppl that arent even real boxing fans with no ****ing enthusiasm outside of the rappers lol

Floyd's a ****ing phenom tho, no pure boxer generates that kind of money n he's not only the biggest cash cow since Oscar n Tyson but he's the best boxer I have ever seen (strictly boxing skill not saying all time time status)

By overpricing his tickets, hate to see how much a nose bleed cost.

well i wouldnt pay to see him, and honestly i think the only reason his ppv #s are so good is cuz at least half the people watch just hoping that floyd would get beat.
