Grappling does not always = submissions. grappling can be used to set up punches or other strikes. Getting bodyslammed on concrete can end a fight just as quickly as gettin hit square on the button.

Exactly! I dare you to pull guard in a street fight. Somebody will slam you on the ****ing concrete or their friends will come and stomp your brains out.

lol grabbing or going to the ground but still just looking to position your self just to punch is all that is going on. You act like they take to the ground to attempt a submission. At most you will see a regular choke. If you want to call that MMA go a head lol. That **** is just plan fighting since the start of Man.

So as soon as you bodyslam someone on the concrete, their friends will just look at you in amazement and run away? You didn't answer the question.

The majority of fights we will get into will most likely happen in club or after hours settings. The last 3 fights ive gotten into have been in brawls. In neither of those situations would any takedowns, grapplings, bodyslams or submissions have benefit me because as soon as I would have gone to the floor, I would be open to any offensive attacks from those surrounding me from above.

The most effective style of fighting in the most likely fight situations people of our age will experience is boxing/kickboxing mostly due to the fact that one on one situations will be rare.

Yes...we're all aware of that argument. And yet....world champion calibur fighters.....the guys who are supposed to be best at it......even the great muhammad ali, when they get into brawls....the boxing went right out the window. WHY!?!?!?

Because there were multiple involved attempting to hold them back.... It's pretty obvious.

Bro it's a press conference. Take away all the people surrounding them and there would have been punches thrown because that's what boxers are known for, using their fists to inflict pain on one another. You can see Lennox throw a one-two when Tyson was close.
