Most folks have to understand that Clottey's fighting style was his down fall against Pac.

His style would work well against Shane.
Clottey's "style" wasnt his downfall against Pacquiao, He just didnt try to win period. Watch Clottey against Judah and then watch Clottey vs Pacquiao. Against Judah he really put on the pressure because he wanted to win badly but against Pacquiao he didnt want to put pressure on because he was scared of being hit and perhaps scared of upsetting Arum (Who promotes both him and Pacquiao)

Shane would make him fight because he is a naturally big welterweight too and he has very good punching power and superior handspeed. I think Shane would win fairly easily just based on skills. Clottey doesnt do anything better than Shane. He has some good wins but lets face it. Clottey is a B fighter at the absolute most. He lost to every top fighter he fought

Handspeed is actually comparable at this stage.

Clottey has serious explosiveness, when he chooses to throw.

Clottey also has better defense than Shane.. which should be obvious to most.

          was judah a volume puncher?
          is mosley?
neither had or have the work rate to keep clottey turtled.
clottey is a more technically sound, sharper, more accurate punching welter. he cant get hurt to the body and has an awesome chin.
clottey waits for mosley to blow his load, then sharp shoots a tired mosley for the rest of the fight.
          clottey UD

Clottey has the worst style in boxing imo....he can't beat the top dudes fighting like that...but I STILL think he got jipped against Cotto tho'....Shane wins a bunch of rounds just beatin' Clottey's gloves...Shane by UD is written all over this!!

                Stopped reading after that.

So you think he threw the fight?

mosley cant do what manny or margarito did. he cant even do what cotto did.
he's not a volume puncher at 147, especially at this stage of his career. his punches just arent fluid enough and his boxing skills arent good enough.

                  mosley gets outboxed

I give the edge to Clottey at the moment.

He may be over defensive but he is a very good counter puncher and is effective with his bursts of offense.

To beat Clottey imo, you need to be able to punch consistantly to keep him on the defensive and i don't think Mosley has the stamina to do so anymore, he looked tired in their against Floyd by the 7th round and against Clottey that simply wouldn't be good.

                    Clottey close UD.

He really isn't a counter puncher though.

You said it so yourself... if your punching, he is defending.

He is an off and on style fighter.
