You should appreciate him while he's still around because it might be a while before we see someone as good as that again. Seriously
Eh, The Whitaker era wasn't that long ago.

Oh ****, I thought you said Sugar Ray Robinson for a minute.

      Must've been a typo.

I've seen Ray Robinson, and, although Mayweather is good by today's standards he certainly is NO Sugar Ray Robinson. Until he began to get old, he had a record of 135-2, And he brutally avenged his 2 losses, as well as being lighter than his opponent.

In his fight with Joey Maxim for the light-heavyweight title, he retired after the 13 th round, exhausted and dehydrated. The rf Ruby Goldstein passed iut after the 10th rd from heaat exhaustion, the temp beibng 105 F at ringside.

Maxim weighed in at 175 and came into the ring at 187, Robinson weighed in at 157, and after the fight was 146.

To mention Mayweather in the same ROOM even, as Robinson, is something a true boxing follower would NEVER do.

AND....just as an "hors doeuvres" ............ Robinson had won almost all, if not all, of the rounds.

The only real comparison is Floyd to Sweet Pea and even that isn't a true comparison. Floyd is definately a one and only.

I don't get why people compare the two. Their so completley different stylistically speaking. Robinson threw alot more looping lefts and rights. Robinson was much more of a combination puncher than Floyd is now as well.
