In any case you know Mitchell's back-fired but I don't think he hand-picked Katsidis. I think he knew Kats was going to be a hella tough fight because of his pressure and his power.

I thought this topic might be a pretty good one to do before the Khan/Paulie fight tonight.

Katsidis is a very tough pressure fighter warrior who had an incredible fight with a pre-Marquez Diaz.....

Malignaggi has looked appalling lately. He looked better in the Diaz rematch but got smashed by shot Hatton, looked terrible against Ndou, lost against Ndoujo and against post-Marquez diaz.

Katsidis isn't a handpicked opponent for anyone at 135 imo. It was a dangerous fight for Mitchell and it showed tonight.

Paulie on the other hand looks like a handpicked opponent for Khan. He's a good boxer but his lack of power and leaky defense will show tonight.

Don't know if Paulie could make Mitchell respect him with his power at all or skills. Paulie's skills are so impressive that he got his ass whooped by Hatton and Cotto. Paulie's biggest win is from a 135 fighter in Juan Diaz.

Con-job is earning me some points tonight with his win over feather-fisted Paulie.

I think Khan picked Paulie, Mitchell did NOT pick Katsidis

But they might both end up losing

I don't think either one were hand picked, but out of the two, certainly the Paulie fight. It is of no surprise that Khan's opponents since the Prescott fight have been rather lacking in power and finishing ability.

Will still be a good win for Amir, but he's worked with Roach long enough to step back in with a puncher.

Paulie was picked due to his lack of power, but other than that he's a good opponent for Khan, rated #1 in the IBO's computerized rankings. He's someone Khan should get credit for beating. People just don't like the guy. Paulie has a much better chance against Khan than Mitchell did against Kats.

Come to think of it. Kastidis was handpicked cos this was only mitchels second fight at lightweight so warren pulled the strings and payed for a heavy purse bid to set it up. NOW THOUGH, being hand picked does not mean its not a hard fight

Are you saying maybe Warren thought Katsidis was past it? Because I never for once thought that, I mean if anyone watched Katsidis previous fights befor the Mitchell fight. He was improving his guard and his offensive weapons. I personally feel Katsidis is improving compared to when he fought Juan Diaz and Casamayor. And I know it means nothing now but I believe Katsidis was winning on the judges score-cards before he got KO'd late by Casa.
