Good thing for danish boxing this card. It's Sauerlands first promotion in Denmark without Mikkel Kessler. It has the backing of danish public service channel TV2 that is to start transmission as we speak.

I look forward to see Rudy Markussen return after 3½ years away from boxing mainly due to a feud with promotor Mogens Palle.

19 year old Kessler-protegé Patrick Nielsen just finished his 6th pro fight with his 4th KO. This time hungarian Varga was on the receiving end. Patrick fought beautifully with good work to body and and head.

In the 3rd round Nielsen fired a fast prolonged flurry that had Varga reeling. In the 4th Patrick finished the job with a heavy unslaught untill the referee stepped in to stop the fight.

Good win for Patrick who's a big crowd favourite already.

Now it's the long awaited comeback for Markussen. 8 rounds against a french 'opponent'.

It's been a long time for Rudy, but this looks easy for him. Karagoz isn't very good.

And down he goes after a hard bodyshot. Rudy loads up on his punches. Shows off the heavy artillery.

          1-0

            Did this show sell out?

Seeing how far Herning is away from a lot of places in Denmark.

It was a straight left to the body that send the frenchman down.

Again Rudy loads up on his punches to much.

Rudy looks quite rusty here in this round.

Good bodyshots from Rudy gives him this round.

              2-0

800 of 1K tickets was sold yesterday. They expected to sell the rest at the gate.

I think it's ok for this small card given it's shown live for free on national television.

Nice work from Rudy who lands hard to both body and head. He had his man wobbly at the end of the round.

Thanks for the updates. Mitchell-Katsidis is on in a few so am focusing on that.

Too bad Gerber wasn't on this card. They would had to go to the big arena to accomodate the 10k fans.
