Even Featherfist Malignaggi has enough to put out Chinny Khan.

Stunning Khan would be great for Paulie though; khan would be reluctant to commit to so many shot and would allow Paulie to do his thing more. It would also look great to the judges to see him buzzing Khan and the crowd lighting up.

And a knockdown or two certainly wouldn't hurt his scorecard.

by no means am I predicting this will happen, i'm just saying what affect it could have.

But that's exactly WHY it was crazy; Malignaggi isn't a fighter that's supposed to stun you yet he did, with a fighter that went to hell and back with Marquez and is about to again.

He could but I doubt he will. Khan got off the mat against a devastating puncher in Prescott. If Malignaggi does put him down, I doubt he will keep him on the mat.

I can certainly see Khan being knocked down. But he looks stronger at 140 and I can't envision him being ko'd by Mallignaggi.

Of course your going to eventually hit your opponent with something that hurts them, if you are landing at will. Even a feather fisted boxer like Malignaggi can. But Khan isn't Diaz. He has a better defence, better speed, better movement, and better reflexes. Malignaggi won't be able to tee off on Khan like he did on Diaz. But yes. Malignaggi maybe can hurt Khan. Will he? I doubt it.

True, but a knockdown or two for Paulie would, both directly and indirectly, massivley boost his chances of securing a points win.

That's correct. Never thought of it like that. But I can see Mallignaggi going into his shell befoe Khan does. It only took a decent right hand from Hatton to put Mallignaggi into survival mode for the rest of the evening.

True, but I just have a hard time believing that Paulie could even stun Khan, even with Khan's terrible chin. If he did, it would make the fight much more interesting, because as you said, Khan would panic a little bit, or he would throw any game plan out the window and throw-throw-throw.

Yeah, a knock down would help Paulie lots, but I don't see it happening. It's not like Paulie has this great defence, and Khan is very fast, so Paulie will get hit a lot, and this will stop him from committing to anything, especially his right hand when he could get it hurt.

I'm probably being too harsh on ole Paulie, but the only problems I see him giving to Khan are in the first couple of rounds where Khan adjusts to his speed, and the Khan will beat him up en route to a late TKO or wide UD.

I think a lot of his problems came with his old trainer, and the Hatton fight was a real low for him. Props to him for sticking in there and wanting to see the final bell in that one.

When Paulie turns up in shape and with that immense will to win he can pull off some strange feat, like dropping N'Dou, rocking Diaz, and pushing Cotto back by catching him off balance.

That's why this is so interesting, they both have the potential to pull off a convincing win, but it all comes down to how they deal with each, and how they react when/if things don't go how they want/planned.
