I'm from Michigan and I've known about Vernon Paris for a while (as I'm sure many Detroiters, Michiganders, and hardcore fight fans have). He hasn't looked that great recently from the fights I've seen on Fox Sports Detroit and I even remember him commenting about maybe thinking about switching to MMA (
) but this is the type of fight I've wanted him to get in for a while.
About 3 years ago I was supposed to see him on the "Fire and Ice" card (still the only live boxing I've ever seen) at the Palace of Auburn Hills that was supposed to set-up a match between him and Lanardo Tyner, but Vernon was hurt and couldn't fight. He was there though.
Anyways, he's fighting Juan Santiago scheduled for 8 rounds on the undercard of the Dzinzurik-Dawson card. I can't remember seeing anything about this before. Did this just get added?
