He's ******, I think he mentioned it on the Jimmy Kimmel show or something. There was also an article on it in the Observer Newspaper in England

My bad it was Jim rome, not jimmy kimmel. It's not surprising anyways, anyone whose been to Philly knows how many ******s are there, especially in the ******s like North and West Philly.
        Here's the link http://www.********boxing.com/phil0610.html
"He was on "Jim Rome's Last Word" as well on Thursday night via Fox Sports Net. At the very end of the show, he was candid about religion. His (religion--Islam) dictates humbleness. And he has been nothing but humble despite the extraordinary amount of press he has gotten. Not to get on a rant or anything, but Bernard's showing of restraint in shoving religion in people's faces is welcome in my mind. While one really does not know the right times to bring it up, it sometimes comes out as impolite or improper right after a fight. Bernard has been patient and polite about it, which is a credit to him and the religion he practices. "

Well said, though I actually don't mind so much when guys mention God after a boxing match. I mean, you're still so keyed up, so stuff like that is going to come out, you know? Just at look at some of the bizarre stuff Monte Barrett said after his win over Beck...I'm sure he doesn't talk like that in real life.

But overall people are far too preachy about their beliefs, and Hopkins restraint is a breath of fresh air.

I don't think he said that for his religious reason. B-hop is a dedicated boxer that maintains himself and takes good care of his body. That's probably why he's not drinking.

I don't see why fighters should not let it be known what they believe and thank God after fights etc. I'm a ****** and if I was fighting I know that I'd be praising Allah after fights because I believe that Islam is the TRUTH. So if you don't like it, then that's your problem Go praise your precious Darwin after your fights or whatever. I don't see what the problem is.

You're from the UK, right? Over here in North America that sort of religious pride has been wrecked by evangelicals who condemn and generally annoy the hell out of everyone that doesn't agree with them. I'm not religious really but I don't have a problem with anyone who is. What I do have a problem with is people trying to shame me into agreeing with them and trying to change what I watch on TV, say, because of their personal views. I think that's why maybe people are a little more hostile to that sort of thing over here, you know?

It's just as bad in the UK if not worse, the UK is the least Religious part of the world. ******s are bullied over here by the non-Religious and simply not accepted, but when a white who converted in his 20's shows up they don't know what to think.

I cannot stand most Christian's anymore because they lack open-mindedness, ******s use Science to back up their beliefs (because there are scientific facts found in the Koran that simply could not of been known in Mohammed's day) whereas Christian's have no open-mindedness. They are stubborn people, and in my opinion they are riding with the devil. In Islam there is no compulsion, Allah guides who he pleases, no true ****** pushes their Religion onto anybody (unlike Christians), but every true ****** is proud to be a ******.
