well if lebron, kobe, or any other mega star athlete was on the brink of becoming a congressmen, they would most likely make the headlines on there sports news sites. i personally don't care about manny's political career and i wish he would just focus on fighting for the next couple years but it is unusual to see a huge athlete , a guy that can make 20- 50 mil a year now, also serving as a congressmen, not to mention, his goofy ***** like singing and acting.

Actually, this was the second attempt for Manny Pacquiao to run for congressman. The first time he ran for congressman was in 2007 in his real hometown of General Santos City,Philippines,he was badly beaten by the incubent congresswoman,Darlene Antonino Custodio by a landslide. If memory serves me right,Pacquiao got 75,000 votes to Darlene Antonino Custodio 150,000 votes.Since Darlene Antonino was going to run for reelection,Manny Pacquiao decided to move and change residence to another district as his opponent there wouldn't be as strong as Darlene Antonino Custodio. His opponent's name in his new district is Roy Chionbian. This time around,Manny Pacquiao won by a landslide.I think,he got 120,000 votes to Roy Chionbian's 60,000 votes.
