Are Both Khan And Malignaggi Underestimating Each Other?

Malignaggi is back on form now and in my opinion he's a very credible opponent for Khan. He's just as credible as the last opponents of champion Timothy Bradley and Devon Alexander. He might not have tremendous punching power but his boxing ability is far above average, especially since reverting back to his more fluid style since parting with trainer Buddy McGirt after his defeat to Ricky Hatton.

Arguably Mayweather himself isn't a great power puncher at his current weight class, but his boxing ability has meant he won most fights by a relatively comfortable margin. Punching power isn't the be all and end all of victory, although I'm not comparing Malignaggi's skill level to Mayweather's.

Khan also seems to be improving as each fight passes, just like any young fighter should. Again, his improvements stem from a switch in trainers, and change of base, since his defeat to Breidis Prescott.

Both Khan and Malignaggi have given the impression that they believe the other to be vastly inferior in terms of skill level. Malignaggi has made statements like "I'll marinate him before I KO him later", and Khan has said "I'll KO him and end his career."

Is it just the usual pre-fight hype, or do you believe Khan and Malignaggi are both underestimating each other in this fight?

i get the feeling that khan is underestimating paulie, havent really thought about paulies side, maybe, but i think paulie may be expecting anything cause he going into the unknown, he really doesnt know how khan will perform on the big stage.

Hard to tell; they both talk a lot and it's hard to tell what they're really thinking.

Pressure is on Khan for this one though, defending a title away from home, against the home-crowd.

Good question. If anyone is underestimating then i can you it's probably Khan. Paulie talks alot as we know but at the same time pretty smart to, he knows deep inside how good Khan is. Pauie knows exactly what he has infront of him saturday where as Khan is probably thinking to brush Paulie aside as he stated he's going to knock him out.

Would be pretty ignorant if boxers underestimated each other.

I think Khan is the one underestimating Paulie. Paulie is expecting Khan to punch hard as hell and thinks he's juicing so how can you underestimate a guy you think is juicing?? Khan is the confident one here and seems like he's very sure he will win. Paulie has good boxing skills so Khan needs to come back to reality and not slack off or hell get outboxed silly.

Both talk bull**** but Malignaggi seems to do it with a sense of humour so I take his comments with a pinch of salt. Khan is thick . If you watch him in his interviews despite being TOLD he has charisma he is very bland and unintelligent. He is way more open to believing his own hype and being delusional . If anyone is underestimating anyone it is him.
