Chavez might have been the greater fighter but this is a bad matchup. Floyd frustrates him the same way Whitaker did.

EDIT: On further consideration, if this is pre-Castillo Mayweather, Chavez wins. Post-Castillo, Mayweather wins.

Floyd got beat by a Chavez sparring partner.

Imagine Floyd going up against the real thing.

Yes, I said imagine, because we'd have to deal with all the excuses as to why Chavez wouldn't be a good enough opponent.

It really isn't difficult to spot a newb in this thread.Pernell Whitaker caught a washed up Chavez at the right time.Chavez was the complete package at his peak.He could fight as effectively on the outside as he could on the inside.

by the time Whitaker caught Chavez,Chavez no longer had the same workrate that he had at his peak.He was nowhere near as effective as cutting of the ring as he could in his peak.He became alot slower and alot more predictable by the early to mid 90's.

As talented as Mayweather is,he's also doesn't have a pair of balls.Which is why he would never sign up for such a fight in the first place.

Just like he made Castillo look amateurish?

i think the punishment to floyds body would be the outcome. Chavez was an animal with a granite chin who took punches as they came. i understand floyd has great defense but chavez knew when and how to throw the hooks to the body with power and u got to remember that he had power with both hands.

                  Great fantasy match up though!!!

the 2nd fight against roger roger was dominating chavez for the first 3 rounds with his jab and movment and good defense but chavez was at his peak and the presure made roger sit in his stool and not come out giving a NO MAS.chavez couldnt presure the same way sweat pea because he was to slow and tired he didnt had the hunger anymore.this fight should of had hapend before than 93 it should of hapend right after julio beat taylor and after he unified the titles at 140 he should gone to 147 if this fight would of hapend in late 1990 or 1991 sweat pea would of ended teh same way roger did in the 2nd fight
